From New York to Michigan: Two Inns with Two Great Bates Bedding Looks
We love when we get to see how customers incorporate Bates into their homes or guest rooms throughout America (and in some cases, around the world!). In this post, we're excited to share how an inn in New York, Sunset on Seneca Bed & Breakfast, and how an inn in Michigan, Hillside Homestead, have used Bates bedding and accessories to decorate their guest rooms.
Hillside Homestead
The Hillside Homestead offers not only a fabulous place to stay in Suttons Bay, Michigan but also an opportunity to experience life on a 1910 farmstead. Traditional Bates bedspreads were chosen not just to help complete the period look in their guest rooms according to Innkeeper Susan Odom but also for their quality:
"They last and last and they wash up so nicely... I just love love love the bedspreads. I get compliments on them all the time. It was so important to me that the bedspreads and linens feel right. They had to be made of natural fibers. I strive to create an authentic 1910 experience."
Susan kindly shared photos of her guest rooms to show how Bates bedspreads help complete her desired look:

Sunset on Seneca Bed & Breakfast
The Sunset on Seneca Bed & Breakfast sits on the edge of the picturesque Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. While the Hillside Homestead opted for the traditional look with bedspreads in their guest rooms, this inn took a different approach by accessorizing with throws and shams.
According to Innkeeper Donna Davis, "they do add a touch of color to an otherwise white bed. I am very happy with the results."
