The Abigail Adams is perhaps our most beautiful matelassé style. Inspired by the bed coverings that President John Adams used while living abroad in France, our most popular matelassé bedspread features an ornate floral design framed by French scrollwork and is finished with scalloped fringe. It is a heavyweight design that was originally introduced by Bates in 1976 during the celebration of the US Bicentennial and was appropriately given the style number 1776.
